Basic data
On
the basis of the Law on establishment and organization of Bosnia
and Herzegovina Chamber of Commerce and Crafts on January 20, 1909
were held the first elections for Chamber and Chamber of Economy
began its activities on January 1, 1910.
In first six months the activities of Chamber were run by consul
of Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Crafts, Dr. Herman pl. Sauter.
In today's area of Sarajevo Canton, until 1962 there were established
specialized chambers mainly for Agriculture and Forestry, Trade,
Catering and Handicrafts.
By the Law on establishment of uniform chambers of economy on December
1962 the current Chamber of Economy was constituted as the Chamber
of general type representing all fields and economy branches and
previous specialized chambers stopped to exist.
Until 1990 the Chamber has changed its organization several times
according to the laws which were passed in that period. From September
1995 the Chamber has carried out its activities in the area of Sarajevo
Canton.
Following the Law on Chambers in the Federation B&H the Chamber
was transformed in January 1999. The new name of the Chamber became
«CHAMBER OF ECONOMY OF SARAJEVO CANTON».
Based
on the Law on modification and supplement of the Law on Chambers
of Economy in the F B&H (Official Gazette 34/03) Basic
Principles were fixed, which the organization and the way
of functioning of the Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton are
based on, as follows:
1.
The Chamber is an independent, non-government, non-profitable
association of juristic and physical persons engaged in economic
activities.
2.
Members of the Chamber are enterprises, banks, insurance companies,
financial organizations, cooperatives, business unions and communities
and agricultural cooperatives, members of corresponding unions
are members through their associations.
3.
The membership to the Chamber is voluntary and one becomes a member
by place, by registering to the Court Register and collective
members by establishing of the association.
4.
Members of Chamber are equal in their rights and obligations to
the Chamber.
Financial
resources of the Chamber are provided by its members through membership
fees and from the commercial services the Chamber offers to its
members and other persons. |
